Default Transfer case

I am looking to get a 4:1 transfer case for my 07 JK. Will a transfer case from a Rubicon bolt right in? Does anyone know the Jeep part # for the 4:1 transfer case? I asked my local dealer and they could not understand why I would want to do this and they said that there is only one transfer case available for the 07 JK's. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

He is wrong. There are two. The non Rubi is a NV230J and the Rubi is a NV240J.

You might want to wait a couple of days on this. Info about these T/C's are all over the board on this forum. From what I have been able to "maybe" find out is the case itself is the same and the only difference is in the name and the gearing. You may be able to get away with having your current case regeared instead for maybe cheaper. Don't forget to look into going that direction instead. Keep us updated, there are a few of us here trying to figure this out.

Depending on the price, i know Mopar gouges, you may want to consider an Atlas or something.

I thought on non Rubi the tcase is Command Trac NVG241 2:72 and on Rubi Rock Trac NV241 OR with 4:10 gears.

They bolt on striaght away exactly the same size just different gearing. The dealers are selling for around 2000 bucks

aslo check JB conversatiosn they are selling NV2421 OR for 2100 and have a detailed write up.

If they are more than $1000 I would save up for an Atlas or Stak.........you can get a better gear selection, stronger outputs and a much stronger case, cant tell you how many of those cases I have seen crack............
