Honestly, if you've got the 3.73's or 4.10's even the 2.72:1 ratio is a decent gear for offroad.

My '02 KJ has 3:1 1st gear, 2.72:1 tcase, and 3.73 axle ratio and it's plenty low when I throw it in 4lo.

Default gears

Yeah, I am running 35's and 4:10's with a auto, and it is great on the street and wheeling until i go down hill. witch is to be expected being a little high geared. I am going to got to 4:88 but i am waiting till i get 37"s.

I did consider that and my brother has that on his JK and it seemed a little low.
Right now i am getting around 21mpg highway and 18 city and as long as i dont mind lots of braking down hill on the steep stuff the wheeling is good to.

Is your brothers a stick or auto?? That will make a difference as well.
Most have found with 37's they really need at least 5.13's

Would it be possible to buy the Rubicon gears for the 241? This seems to be the last chink in my armor. A buddy of mine has an Atlas with really low gears (deeper than 4:1) and in the rocks where I gotta get the revs up to bump over a boulder, he justs idles through. It's impressive. I would like to go deeper than 4:1 but I'd be happy with that for now.

if you want deeper than 4:1 then just get the atlas 4 with the 10:1
