Transfer case driveshaft nut
I was rolling under the Jeep to check jam nuts, etc. I installed driveshafts a few months ago with replacement flanges. I gave the front flange at the transfer case a shake to see if anything felt loose. There is obivously some rotational spin before the front diff locks, but there is a slight up and down movement (very slight) to the flange. Just for laughs (actually no laughs), I pulled the skid plate, pulled the DS off and checked the torque of the xfer case nut. It was still torqued at the 90 - 100 ftlbs.
Has anyone else gotten this particular. Just wondering if the slight up and down is normal. Would I have to take the nut totally off and then retorque to get an accurate reading (I don't think so). I never really totally got rid of a slight vib at 55-60 mph, but I have grown to accept it.

I have no play on the rear flange. There is slight play on the front. It's just a little play and you get a little click or tap noise while shaking it. So it sounds like you're normal. Well maybe not you, but your rig
So, does it plunge in and out? Mine did it awhile back and caused nasty driveline vibe. I had to have a new crush sleeve put in and the shaft fixed. Pinion nut loosened up.
