Default Transfer Case Gearing

Is anyone making a set of gears for the transfer case on the X model? I'd like to re-gear to a 4-1 or 5-1... Could the gearing from the Rubicon transfer case be put into the X-model...?

All the transfer cases aren't the same? Have you heard of Atlas? Some of their transfer cases allow 2-Lo. The FRONT 2!!!

Haven't heard of any tcase re-gear kits.

Atlas (2k+)
Advance Adapters RubiCrawler (auto's only, about $1600)
TeraFlex has a 2low kit that allows seperate 4wheel low and 2wheel low options.

Or

Just swap in a rubi tcase. (cheapest option, watch for someone upgrading to an atlas)

There is a kit to replace the JK's sector plate in the transfer case and provide you with a 2-lo option. Perfect for backing or parking trailers.

No to both questions. Wish they would come out with something where we could regear the transfer case to 4:1, but I don't see that happening. Best bet is to try to find a used rubi tc or spends big money for an atlas II.

Even a Rubi housing is expensive. I plan on skipping the Regear and just getting the Atlas 10.34 for my 6-speed.

Look around and you can find them used for $650-800. Sure beats the other two options.

At $1600, spending a little extra for an Atlas might be the better option.

I think the rubicrawler is great if you have a rubi t case already. With a rubi crawler in the 241j it gives you the option of 2.72:1 or about 7.4:1. I think the 7.4 would be good in some situations, but would be to low of a gear in most.
