Default transmission cooler line help

I screwed up the stock line installing a tranny cooler (because I am an idiot). I got a new line but am unfamiliar with this type of fitting. What tool(s) do I need and what is the process to take off/put on a line with this fitting?

Pop that plastic cover back with a screwdriver. It will all be clear then. It's the simplest damn thing you'll ever do. Just grab that little clip and pull it out with needle nosed pliers. Nuthin to it.

Nope. Pop that cover off, you'll see. When you go to reinstall it, pop the wire clip back in FIRST, then just push the line together. It will snap in place. Then put the cover back on.

I am going to do this tomorrow. Are there any other parts I should replace while I am here? O rings, that wire clip or something?

Not unless you lose something. The O-rings should last a while. You need to be CAREFUL pulling the wire clip out. They WILL fly across the room. Ask me how I know.

Just about like you said. I ended up using a tiny jewelers screwdriver to pry out that clip - the angle was not conducive to grabbing with a needle nose. After that, pulled out the old line, put the clip back, pushed in the new line until it clicked... DONE.

Thanks RedneckJeep!
