True. Hadn't thought about that.

I just pray it's not the transmission. I'm confused why it will stumble enough for me to clearly notice and feel in my seat, but isn't throwing a single code or check engine light.

Last CEL I saw was when it started blinking during the vacuum line seafoam treatment last week.

If I took it to a shop (aamco type place ) would they be able to pull codes or diagnostics that I wouldn't see from my superchips tuner? Just hate to start throwing parts at an unknown issue

My gf's '10 JK just had similar issues, 43K miles. It ended up being the transmission crank shaft sensor, $20 fix. $110 for the dealership to tell us it was a $20 fix though...

It is likely your fuel pump at that mileage. Easy change, $300 bucks or so.

I did a write up or sorts, look through my profile and see if you find it. Explains all the symptoms I was having....it matches right up with your systems.

OK thanks. A local Mr transmission (reputable shop) will hook it up to all the diagnostic equipment for 80 bucks. I usually hate taking it to any shop but starting to think it might be 80 dollars well spent to figure out the issue as opposed to just throwing time and parts at it.

I'm obviously well out of warranty, is there any additional benefit to having the dealership diagnose it over an independent shop? Figured they all probably have the same diagnostic tools and in my past experience the dealership has always been much more costly.

Thanks, I'll checked it out. Don't have any issues with it holding rpm and really hasn't effected performance outside the occasional bucking I get when lightly accelerating or crusing. Really hoping it is a bad tank if gas but will definitely check fuel pressure jst in case

Any luck getting this sorted? Fuel pumps can be bitchy little creatures. Fuel level, ambient temperature, debris in the sock filter makes the repair symptoms come and go...

Thanks for checking. No, haven't figured it out quite yet. I drove to and from work yesterday and the Jeep drove perfectly fine other than one particular instance where I felt the kick/buck a couple of times when lightly accelerating in traffic. I've also noticed that since the problem has started it is felt like my back tires are out of balance or something, getting a little extra vibration when driving but really just feels like tires . Could just be a coincidence or something I am just noticing more because I'm paying more attention. I'm thinking about just spending the $80 or so do you have it professionally diagnosed otherwise I'm afraid I will just be throwing a lot of time in parts at an issue that could be caused by a number of different things. The problem is that its so random that I am afraid they won't be able to replicate the problem or find any issue. Just really hoping it's not transmission related. It doesn't seem to make a difference if I am in overdrive or not, and otherwise the transmission is shifting smooth as ever. I checked my fluid and it was nice and red. Maybe a tad bit low just under the lower hot indicator after maybe 20 minutes of driving, nothing I would have assumed would cause this type of issue ( was also on a slight uphill incline when I checked the fluid) . I tried to retune using my superchips and it had no effect. Wondering if maybe pulling my battery for an hour or so to reset the ECU would make a difference. Although still have fingers crossed that maybe it could have been a bad think of gas. I'm about halfway through the tank so considering top it off to see if it helps but not sure if it would be better to wait till it's almost all gone before I refill.

It still sounds like the fuel pump to me. Especially when you say as you accelerate it bucks. When you accelerate you are increasing the load on the fuel pump. I agree though without more dire events, it will be hard to do more than guess.

I thought mine was the transmission as well, but it is doubtful it is the transmission. Automatic usually die slowly unless they leak out alot of fluid or burn up.

Fuel pumps are cooled by being submerged in the gas in the tank. So when the tank is low or lower the fuel pump may run hotter. Being it is cold out in most of the country the effect is probably minimal now.

Recently noticed a sporadic issue when cruising around 40-50mph. Hard to explain but it feels like a studder or jerking. Doesn't make a noticeable sound but you can definitely feel it. I immediately thought it had to be transmission related because it kind of feels like the transmission kicking, maybe torque converter, but it's not "shuddering", more of a bucking as opposed to vibration . It happens both with OD on and off. Otherwise the Jeep shifts smoothly throughout gears both when I am hard on the pedal or easing through the gears. Seems to only happen when I am cruising or lightly accelerating. Than I thought it could be engine related, like a misfire or something. It's hard to tell and my CEL is not on nor do I show any codes on the dash or from my superchips programmer

I first noticed it after leaving a gas station, filled up with premium. Not sure if that had anything to do with it or if bad gas could cause it. . Also last week I changed my oil and ran some seafoam through the vacuum line (brake Booster). One strange thing is that when doing the seafoam, the Jeep started shaking a bit and making a ticking noise and the CEL blinked a few times. That hasn't happened in the past when seafoaming but the Jeep ran fine for days after that before I noticed the issue ..plugs and wires have maybe 15k miles on them (year old maybe). Not sure if maybe the seafoam could have fouled a plug or sensor. Starts and idles fine.

Any ideas? Sorry if my explanation is not the best.

ever get this fixed? Exact same situation. Don’t know where to begin.
