My 09 JK seems to have unpredictable transmission issues. Happened when I was backing out of my parents garage. Push the clutch in add gas, slowly release gas moving backwards, press clutch in again to shift to neutral, can't shift into neutral and jeep is still in gear backwards so I slam on the brakes to stop.

What I am afraid this will happen at other speeds and potentially could rear end someone.

 

Sounds like slave cylinder is going out. Check fluid levels also.
