Default Transmission slipping

For the past couple of days I have been getting a fairly loud vibration sound, not quite like gears grinding when a stick miss shifts (I heve an automatic) but i'm sure its the tranny. Happens mainly when its shifting from first to second. I put 35" toyo open country m/t's on after the 4" lift about 2 months ago. They weigh about 100lbs apeice. They couldn't be causing the tranny to fail could they?

Can you describe the vibration and where you feel it? Do the RPMs get stuck at around 1500 and require you to put the pedal to the floor to get it to downshift?

Its like in mkjeep's post, it is like speed driving on speed strips. I have to let up on the gas to get it to stop.

I sh!t you not, as I was about about to click the JK forum button on my favorites bar I thought to myself

"I almost hate to log in because everytime I do have to read about something else failing on the new JK's"

First topic death wobble second topic tranny slip. Did Mrs. Smith's kindergarten class build these jeeps or what? I have been an avid follower of jeeps since the YJ days, I know that shows my age but I have never seen so many problems with a release.

More prone to death wobble than tj's
ball joints lasting 10k miles
bent axle tubes
bent C's
steering sectors snapping
my gig..heh don't even go there
knocking at startup
the list goes on....

Amazingly enough my ball joints are loose, the engine knocks at startup, I'm afraid to check my axle for straightness and the steering shimmy is tolerable but I still love my jeep...it's like some kind of sick love affair.

You left out leaking tops, leaking passenger axle seal and steering clunk.

Don't forget, you hear mostly from people with problems. Most JKs are trouble free. I mean
