Default Transmission swap

I have searched the forum and have not found anybody that has swaped a manual tranny into thier auto JK. How difficult is this to do? Not the actual swap which I'm sure could be done in a day or so....but can it be made to work with the can-bus? I would really love to do this but havnt seen anybody attempt it. I am assuming there are no plug and play kits available and I guess the transfer case would need to go as well. Any insight would be great

Anybody have any info on this. What would the cost be? Would one need an adapter for the t-case / are the output shafts different?

This wouldn't be impossible to do but you would need to first find the tranny. The computer would need to undergo flashing. Input shaft I believe is the same for Auto and Manual on the t-case.

If you were to do this you'd need a new center console where the shifter sits as most of the componets are in different locations. You might even need some additional bracketry to move everthing in it's proper place.

And your head examined for the eventual unforseeable unavoidable problems.

I've never met anyone who wanted to swap a manual for anything. As stated above you'll have way more expense and potential trouble than just selling your Jeep and buying one with a manual.

Unless you have a guy with a manual JK wanting to trade while parked right next to you, forget it. There are a thousand differences and the only way to do it would be with a COMPLETE donor vehicle. Also take ANY warranty you have and hang it in the men's room stall, this will cause Chrysler to excommunicate you....
