Default Transmission temp sensor NEED HELP!

ok so i bought a trans temp gauge and as im putting it in and reading the directions it says to take out the test port and just screw the sensor in to there. one problem, where the heck is the test port?? i called the gauge company and ask them where it is and all they told me is that it is one the driver or passenger side.... not very helpful. so i have come to you all for help. is there a test port i can just take out and screw in the sensor? if so where? or is there a better place to put the sensor? pictures are always helpful.
Thanks, Rob

Do you own a Superchips Flaspaq? If so just use the trans temp feature on it. It uses the JK's built in temp sensor.

If not, return that temp sensor you bought & go buy one!

A temp probe in a test port is a poor location.
This will show temp of the fluid only when the particular circuit is in operation. You would have to choose which port to monitor.
They are:
torque converter clutch on;
torque converter clutch off;
reverse;
low/reverse;
2/4;
underdrive;
overdrive.

A probe in the pan is a good choice. An AeroForce gauge will display the automatic transmission fluid temp in the sump.

Very true. I keep forgetting to include that suggestion.
Some people like gauges, though. (Myself included.)

I recently added a B&M cooler but still want to add a gauge since I'll be pulling a heavy travel trailer with my JKU. I bought a B&M gauge kit that includes the sensor and it wants me to cut the metal line and add a T, the sensor goes in the top. I'll be putting this in tomorrow and will cut the line after the cooler. I suspect this will give me the info I want.
