Default Tread width??

I need to know the tread width of a BFG mud t/a size 255 85 16... I couldnt even get BFG reps to find out... All they give me is section width of 10 inches.. I know it must be skinny but it might be what Im looking for......... Thanks All!!!!

255mm is 10 inches.

255 = 255 mm so 255/25.4 (mm in a in) = 10.03"

I believe the width of the tires, in this case 255, is for the overall casing or section width. Some manufactures list section width and tread width. The tread with is almost always less than the section width.

Here is a link for the Hankook Dynapro MT RT03 tire. They don't have the size you're looking for but they have section width and tread width publish. You can get an idea of the difference.
