Default Trek Top vs bikini...

I am looking to get something a little easier to manage in the summer time than the hard top for my 4dr Rubi...how much rain and gunk get in with the bikini top on....I had a 67 Ford Bronco that I ran a bikini on, the only thing it kept out was the sun...

I was going to go with the bikini kit, duster cover and windjammer....or the Trek top....the bikini looks WAY easier to remove....I am unfamiliar with the results of the windjammer, just looking for some advice.

I live in RI, so we get a boat load of rain....usually unexpected.

If you have the softtop, which I don't think you do, then the bikini top seals up
nicely to the door rails/frames. If you don't have the softtop, you will have a
big gap between the full frame doors and the top (assuming you have full
frame doors--this is where I encourage you to fill out that personal profile info
so we know what you have to better answer your questions. ). This
gap is large enough to fit your hand through. Rain will come through,
especially when you turn and it rolls off the rooftop. Also, the unlimited (which
you do say in your profile you have) does not have a Wrap-around
Windjammer option. Some folks have forced the two-door Wrap-around
Windjammer into place, others have taken it and had an upholstery shop add
a couple inches of fabric to form a fit for the four door JKs. Either way, the full
doors and the door rails/frames and the Duster, with the Wrap-around
Windjammer (modified or stretched) gives a virtually water-tight passenger
compartment. With a regular Windjammer you will have large gaps ...

Also, let me put in a word for the Mopar Sunbonnet--yeah, I agree that's a
stupid name. But, from all I've heard about the Bestop Safari Top, the Mopar
Sunbonnet is worth the twice the cost of the Bestop they'll charge you for it.

Trektop: I don't have any experience with it, but I've been told that it can be
formed to make a watertight fit for those who have full frame doors, but not
the softtop hardware.

There are actually at least a dozen or two threads on these subjects on
JK-Forum. I encourage you to use the search option to find out a lot more
detail on what I summarize above.

With the exception of the problem with not being able to fold the top up, the Mopar SunBonnet does not suffer the problems described above. Which is why i strongly recommend spending twice as much on it, as opposed to the Bestop version.

I think that you would get a significant amount of water inside with a bikini top...
