Im thinking of calling bestop or even better stop by and make them come up with a solution for my issues. If not then maybe they can take this thing back!

That sucks brother! I've been thinking about getting a trektop but after all Im reading about here from some of you guys, Im wondering if waiting is the best bet. Im all into the "it's a jeep" but the consumer side of me has a hard time accepting design and manufacturer shortfalls. It's not like this top is inexpensive. What I dont understand is if there are issues with the top, why does Bestop need to wait for end users to bring to their attention? Certainly they can test their product before releasing to the masses. Not bashing in any way shape or form....just observing some other experiences here in an effort to make an informed decision to purchase or not. From what I have been reading here on the forum, Im leaning toward waiting it out some more.

If I am mistaken on anything, someone please correct me.

Hmmm, I installed mine a few weeks ago and I have no wind noise coming from the header. The only noise I have is a fapping sound from the trektop slapping against the soundbar when I have the windows open and am driving 60+mph. I managed to reduce that noise by sticking some foam weatherseal on top of the sound bar.

All in all, I am quite pleased with the trek top. Certainly is is noisier than my hard top (now sold) was, but it's about the same as the soft top on my old CJ was.

I'm between this and the ORH top. I really like the ORH top more but am reluctant to order because of all the customer service issues. Plus, I know BestTop honors their warranties. Does anybody have the third generation TrekTop? It is the newest version that comes with a tailgate bar... I've been told it incorporates the tailgate bar just like the factory top and that it is a much improved design. Apparently they changed the header setup to seal better as well. So...whos got it?

Anybody else like their trektop or would my money be spent better in other areas?

well, I bought mine back in april. 2nd generation. My issue was with the leaking seem above the sound bar. I messed with it putting some tent sealer on it. It still leaked. I called besttop. They said the 3rd gen would be out the next several weeks. This was in June. I recieved the new top in August. I have yet to put the new top on. Believe it or not the old top quite leaking. I have no idea why. Maybe the seller settling in? I doubt that being it was on when it leaked 2 months straight. I am not sure? All I know is it has rained allot lately with no leaks. It could be a wind/rain issue we had in the spring and not this fall?

I look at it as a cheap alternative to other tops that looks different and easy to remove with minor issues (hence cheapier than the alternative). I work out of town 500 miles. I drive back and forth twice a month, I am not crazy from it (i think)? I do not plan on putting on the new until next spring as the hard top is going back on this weekend.
