Default Trektop NOT NX

I'm thinking about buying a used Trektop for my JKU. It's not the NX, so I guess a generation before. Does anybody have any thoughts? I can get the NX for about $300 more than the used option, so I'm weighing whether to put that $300 difference into other stuff I want for my Jeep or whether I should go new and wait on the other stuff. Advice, please!

I liked the non-nx for ease of full removal and putting back on... what I didn't like, was that mine leaked, very noisy, blows up like a balloon at highway speeds, and pooled water (until I added a bow to it in front, then pooling wasn't much of an issue - all other gripes persisted though).

I eventually swapped mine out for the NX version, and was much, much, happier with it. Only issue is that it takes more work to go fully topless; windows and rear section come off quickly and easily, then your left with a sort of bikini top section remaining over front and rear seats that is not easy to just remove and replace on the fly... and sure, the front portion of that very easily flips back (so just left with the covered section remaining over the rear), but that always seemed to flap around and make a big racket, so I pretty much always just left it alone.

My two cents anyways

Oh! Nearly forgot one more gripe I had with the non-nx... the top is all one piece. So the slanted section in the back is not removable. If you need to fit something big in the back, you've pretty much got to undo the back half of the top. With the NX, the slanted back section unzips.

The NX really is a MUCH better top. From fabric, to stitching, design, versatility, etc. So many issues with the original version besides just the one piece design, biggest issue was the crappy ass door surrounds... and yes they leak like a sieve. The NX however, is a great top, well made, well designed and works perfectly, in every configuration.
