Default TrekTop NX Tailgate bar

Just installed a Trektop and was unsure about the rubber seal on the tailgate. Seems like no matter what I do I have two open spots on both sides of the bar without seal. Thinking in going to put weather stripping in these opening but figured I would ask and see if anybody came across this before or knows what I'm doing wrong. Pictures attached.

I dont have this top. But from what I have heard here, most people are using the factory bar because of this issue. I want this top but have heard alot of bad things.

Default TrekTop NX

I would recommend the top if your interested. I have the hardtop so this is my softtop but I don't think I would replace a factory softtop with a trektop except for the looks. It was kind of a PITA to put on and it was 80 degree's and I left the top in the sun for a couple hours and it was still very tight to get on but after 2 days it's already loosened up a bit. I think I might replace the tailgate bar with the factory one though. I used a little weather stripping today and fixed those gaps in the pictures. It does have the sunrider option and it opens like a factory top. I have the freedom top and the Trek opens almost as much as when taking off the two panels above the driver/passenger. I've been using it all the time - 30 second open and close. It doesn't fold back like a factory softtop though since it doesn't use hardware - more of a bikini top when removing but reasonably easy to do. It's really quite too....pretty much the same as the hardtop. I included a link to another thread with some pictures of it open. When I get a chance I'll take a couple of pics as well.

The top can't be folded back like the regular top, but i have taken it down a couple of times and i'm used to it now. It takes me about 7-8 min. to take down and about 10 to get it back on.

Default Trektop NX !

I've had my Trektop NX since last june2011. I ended up getting the factory bar and using it. The factory on makes it easier open the back anyway!

I just got this top and I do like it. I will agree installation was kind of a PITA. It is super tight even installing on an 80 degree day. It has loosened up a little bit. I have the same gaps and problems w/ the bar. Is this issue resolved w/ the factory tailgate bar? I do not have a factory soft top just hard top. I definitely like the overall look. it's pretty sweet.
