Default Trektop Question

Once installed is it easily removed? That is, if I want to quickly take it off my Jeep do I need to unscrew things and remove other pieces? I'm looking at the Trektop as a quick way to swap the top during the summer.

yes. so long as you don't need to take off the door surrounds, you can take it off and bundle it up in minutes. reinstallation is the same especially if it is sunny and hot out. like any soft top, in the cold, it can be a PITA.

I'm waiting on mine, but you can do a search. Type trek top or trektop. You will find loads of info reguarding the trek top.

Good luck!

Hey WOL! Now that you mentioned the door surrounds, when would it be necessary to remove them?

The Trektop comes with its own door surrounds (more like bars). Before putting the Trektop on, you will need to remove your factory door surrounds and put in the ones that come with your Trektop. I don't see a need to ever take the new ones off once they're on. The Trektop comes off easily, mostly just velcro and undoing the lips just like on the factory soft top. The only thing you have to unscrew is the headliner up by the windshield, which is fast and easy.

I have had the top on, off, rolled back half way, rolled back all the way. I just leave the surrounds on. They are not too noticeable when the full doors are shut and the top is off. Very low profile. I also detach the header from the top and then reattach to the windshield to store it when I have the top off and folded up in the rear. I leave the header attached to the top when I just roll it back.

just when you need to reinstall your hardtop or - if you pull your doors off too. even then, you don't need to take off the surrounds but it looks funny to leave them on like that

Perfect! Just what I wanted to know. I guess I'll have to practice a lot uninstall/installing everything on certain occasions.

Who said jeeping was easy ;-)

Thanks!

I don't have the hardtop, the Trektop is my only top now. But, I'm guessing that when you put your hardtop back on you'll have to put the factory door surrounds back on.
