Default Tricks to Exhaust Install

So I am going to try and get my Dynomax dual exhaust on tomorrow, but sunday I climbed under my jeep and the exhaust is really really rusted, any tricks to the install? the bolt on the first clamp is above the exhaust, should I try and spin the clamp around so the bolt is on the bottom??? Andy advice would be much appreciated, I have limited tools, used to change exhausts on rice burners in highschool but even on those, rust would make it a bitch.

Start with a good penetrating oil now, like a PB Blaster or the like. Be liberal with it, but not enough that it drops in your eyes and causes MASSIVE stinging.
Tap the bolts with a hammer to make sure the oil is getting into all the threads.
Also spray the isolater/ rubber bushings as well.
Have a small pry bar helps get those bushings off.
If the stock exhaust is really being a PITA and you aren't going to use it, cut it off.
Don't tighten down the DynoMax system until it is all installed and not rubbing/hitting somewhere (it shouldn't).
If you have done one on a tuner type car you got this no problem.
Good luck.

Good advice! For the muffler bushings, be prepared to use some muscle and a lot of lubricant. I ended up using a large channel lock plier with a twisting motion.

For the rubber isolation mounts....use plumbers pliers. Worked very well. Much easier using the pliers to get the old exhaust off than using a pry bar or something of that nature. Make sure the pliers can open wide enough though that you can get them on the rubber and the end of the piece that is welded to your exhaust.

I bought exhaUst grommet pliers on amazon for 18 bucks. Used a lubricant and I got the hangers out in like 2-3 mins! Well worth the money.
