Default Trouble regearing issues with..........

My salesman said that I will have problems re-gearing at an Offroad shop due to the fact that my Dana 30 has electronics for my 4WD to work right. I have a 2011 Wrangler Sport and will be gearing up to 4.11's with my 33' Goodyear MT/R. Will the Offroad shop run into problems puttin' in my gears? Can anyone tell me what he was talking about? He said 15 hrs labor to change my gears when everyone else says around 6 to 8....

Salesman is am idiot. I have a 2011 and there is non problem with an off road shop changing your gears. What he was probably confusing was that the computer will need to be updated with the new gear ratio so that speedometer reads right and shift points are accurate. I am running 35s on my 2011 sport with stock 3. 73 gears and it needs new gears, and dogs going uphill. Check your gears tho cause mine came stock with 32s and 33s should not really need a gear change. The only good luck.

I have 3.21's right now and since I put 33' tires and 17' wheels, I can't get out of my own way.

Just a thought if you are going to spend the money to regear I would recommend that you upgrade to either 4.56 or higher. That way or will get better performance with the 33s and not have to regear again if/when you decide to get larger tires. However I regard to you question no there shouldn't be a problem. People regear all the time and it doesn't mess up the 4wd or computer.

Devil Dog has an automatic and Cajun Tiger has a 6 speed. Either way, get a pro-cal module and adjust your speedometer when you get done.

The ProCal will fix the issues you get when you re-gear (speedo, shift points for auto etc). Takes about 2 minutes and your Jeep will run just fine. Just re-geared and no issues.

How bad will 4.56's screw-up my fuel milleage? I use my Jeep as an everyday vehicle. I work offshore and drive around town when I am home. My Jeep will be for moderate 4-wheeling and occassional rock climbing. I do not have another vehicle to pull my Jeep with so trips to Hot Springs will be in the Jeep. I am not gonna get crazy with it, just some fun with the kids is all I plan on doing. Thought I was gonna even change my axels, ( at least on the front), but decided not to. I am putting some lockers, but thats about all. And a 2.5" to 3" Rough Country lift. I may be missing something that I should do, but this is the plan so far.
