Debating which is better, the weld on truss kits or axles sleeves? State you opinions and why you perfer them

 

The truss kits like Artec are better. The no weld sleeves from Nitro are cheap but a PITA to install. Either of these are a cheaper than the labor required for a weld in sleeve. The truss is stronger than a weld in sleeve also.

 

I voted truss. We installed the Artec Armor kit and there is no way a sleeve is stronger than their truss. I still think sleeves and gussets are more than enough for most people.

 

I did weld in sleeves and then realized that because I did that, I became limited in what axles I could upgrade to. I was originally looking to do 35 spline RCV when my factory locker craps the bed but they won't fit now. So I'm stuck with the smaller spline count and my e locker forever (or until I go prorock)

I did weld in sleeves because I was concerned about how much articulation I would lose with a truss kit. Also I'm running RCV'S with my weld in sleeves.

 

TRUSS!!!!!! Iheard that RCV's wont fit in some tubes, just something to concider if you think you might upgrade your axles one day. Personally I'd have RCV's done before sleeves or a truss.

 

Speaking of Trusses. What are you guys paying on average for the install?

 

I have Nitro's 'pound in' sleeves. If you do sleeves, I'd suggest weld in sleeves as they are stronger than hammer in sleeves.
