Default tube steps

ok. so my wife is pregnant and needs some steps to get in my jeep. I have the stock rubi rails on still. I guess i have no choice but to get some kind of step for her. i really wanted some rocker guards but i dont think that small tube is going to be enough for her. will the rugged ridge or any other brand step acutally hold up to a hit from a rock? i also dont want something that is going to hang too low and cause clearance issues. need some advice, and pic are great too. Also, is their any way to keep the rubi rails on as well to cover the pinch seem?

I was looking at these:

In my experience tubes like that wont take a hit...

I had something like that on my TJ, the tube snapped and dented the tub.

Shrockworks makes a nice step slider..

Purejeep has a nice set, But the steps so high, I dont think it'll help her out...

Is your Jeep stock?

my 3 " black diamond will be here in a couple of weeks and i will be getting 35's. she complained about not having a step form the day i bought it. her aunt has a sahara with steps so she thinks i need them. she let me buy a rubicon so if i have to get a step to make her happy i guess i have to deal with it. need to tame the pregnant dragon.

I was kinda in the same boat as you. I ended up getting a used pair of the molded OEM steps so the wife will stop complaining. Got them for 50. Shes happy for now and later when I can afford it I'll get some Shrocks, PJs or something similar. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet.

I have the crome mopar steps that I just took off my jeep. they are in great shape with only a few surface type lite scratches and I have all the mounting hardware. I was wanting to get a $100 for them (retail is $435 and I have seen them online for around $390) and I will be heading up to Ocala next weekend. Let me know if you want them.

Here's a picture on my jeep.
