Has anyone with a hard top bought one of these? (a Tuffy overhead locked CB/Radio console for the JK's)

Can you reach your hard top handles in the middle with this installed?

 

We have one installed with the hardtop. You can still reach the hard top handles in the middle with the console installed but it is a little bit of a squeeze. I take the front part of the freedom top off all the time without any real interference from the Overhead Console.

 

Thanks for the reply. Another question I have... my cb is around 12" deep. Can I cut out part of the rear wall of the unit so it will fit? (I have heat sinks & the antenna mount on the rear) Specifically, how much room is there behind the storage box in between that and the windshield?

 

As a suggestion for Tuffy.... you may want to consider increasing the depth of the new cosole box.

Although my CB is unusally long (deep), I just measured a Uniden 78 that I have laying around & it's 11.5 inches from the front tip to the rear with an antenna screwed on, and this size CB is the standard size for the larger class of CB's that a lot of people own.

Hey Tuffy! When are you going to ship in quantity? I ordered mine (overhead console) from Savanna Jones last week (along with the center consol insert AND the trunk) and it is in backorder status not allocated or some such BS. The trunk and insert arrived yesterday but when is the overhead going to ship? Sure would like to have it before I take a trip to get my supercharger installed next month .....
