Which tune to try next?
I'm going on a road cruise in about a week. I have only used the 87 tune so far. Ran a few tanks, mostly city driving. I was wondering if there is a better superchips tune to try for highway? Thanks for any help
** I just did a 300 mile trip across the PA turnpike from Phila to Pittsburg this past weekend. I used the 87 tune on the way out, averaged 15.3 miles per gallon with my 2010 Unlimited,w/Rubi tires/wheels+3.73’s. A Banks CAI and Monster exhaust have also been installed. The drive was ok until the middle part of the state was reached and hit a few hills coming in and out of the tunnel. It struggled to keep the speed up in the 65-75 range, constantly shifting up and down. Even over small grades would go in and out of ECO mode. Better than stock but not much for the price of the mods and tuning to say the least
On the way back from Pittsburg the next day, mixed things up again. While filling up the with 92 octane at Sheets, re-tuned to the 91 tune and reset all the gauges. Needless to say, the return trip was much different. Overall, was able to get 17.8 mpg and the jeep felt all together better. It was more responsive and felt like it wasn’t struggling as hard. It was also able to maintain 75mph heading back through the hills at a steady pace, still some up and down shifting but felt like much less.
All in all a much happier trip on the way back, even running the 92 gas which was 20 cents more a gallon at the pump. When it was all rolled up was still able to save $5 by spending the extra money up front for the better gas. Will try the 91 to 93 comparison for the next trip and eventually the tow tunes. Update to follow

Have to agree been running Tow tune for almost a year. I used to have it set on the 87 Tune till I upgraded the superchips lastest software upgrades and got the annoying pinging!
