Tuner kills PCM
I've waited a few days to cool off after spending about $650 to replace the PCM. Hate to diss products, but tuners have an inherent risk of doing damage that isn't readily apparent. Google a brand of tuner (or just "tuner") along with "kill" and "PCM" to find some horror stories. In my case it was a DiabloSport, which included at no extra charge 2.5 days of underwhelming tech support and lots of wasted time.
After this experience, my advice is to get the latest factory tune flashed from the dealer and call it good unless one has a supercharger or other extensive engine mods. As it turned out, there was a newer factory tune that went into the new PCM, and it's running perfect.
Side note: The AEV procal is not a tuner even though it sets TPMS pressures, tire diameter, etc.
