From what I've read about tuners on some other forums, manufacturers can tell if the PCM has been reprogrammed.

Whether or not they actually do anything about it is always the question.

Had a procal. Got the Superchips for beta testing. Have them the feedback they requested. After I regeared, I just didn't feel the gains that others did. Sold it, back to procal.

You may have very well have read that somewhere but from what I have personally experienced after going to the dealer on several occasions I was told I had messed with my programming. But like you suggested maybe they could tell but didnt say anything. Either way no warranties were voided and that goes for other guys I know who run this programmer as well

I will say that I did like the shift points under the tune much better than I do now that I'm back stock.

As a side note, when speaking specifically about non tuners like the Procal, i'm surprised the Flashcal doesn't come up more often. It's basically a Procal but with an LCD screen instead of dip switches.

Really leaning toward the Procal... I want to get the little annoying things fixed with the use of oversized tires. Does the procal allow the disconnects to be used in 4hi.

If you are leaning towards the Procal, then you should look at the Flashcal. It's cheaper, does a bit more, and has an LCD screen.
