Default tuner or sprint booster?

Ive got a 2014 jk manual, just looking to get rid of the laggy throttle and make it feel a bit more peppy. Is there a specific tuner that gives the best gains or am i better just going with the simple sprint booster?

If a tuner can do what the sprint booster does, it would be the best bet, I've heard you can use the sprint booster with a tuner to make it even better. It kills me to think that it's not able to be completely solved. I hop in my friends 4 runner and just about spin the tires everywhere I go because his throttle response is instant. It's much nicer being able to use the power you have. I have to either creep or haul ass. There is no comfort zone. It makes driving my jeep very aggravating and sometimes not enjoyable at all. If we could adjust the sensitivity of the pedal as well as have the trans shift when it needs to, I think it would be like driving a totally different machine. I think the only option is a engine and trans swap, or deal with this ridiculous problem. If I knew a programmer could do all of that, I'd pay for one and for someone to street tune it for the best possible shift points and throttle response. One can only dream......

FWIW, I bought my 14 in june, its a manual also, just found the sprint booster controller under the dash/ center console the other day. Had no idea what it was until i looked it up. But, i have been messing with the settings the past few days and it does make a noticeable difference. i keep it in sport mode or whatever green is and i love it. I came from having the old 3.8 and never drove a 3.6 until i got mine. So i was really impressed with it, but really it has the same lag as the 3.8 just with more power without the sprint booster. I dont think a tuner makes much of a difference with a manual, aside from some being able to adjust the speedo and gear ratios.

Sounds good! And apparently green is moderate mode and red is aggressive mode

Six speed, I have both. Only complaint is how jerky the jeep is off road. Doesn't help I lost the wire to the sprintbooster lol

I have a 2013 6-speed. I have both the Sprint Booster and a Superchips Flashpaq. If I was to improve throttle only, I would go with the Sprint Booster, hands down.
Now, I'm running 4:56 gears and 35's and most always take off from 2nd gear, even when I had 4:10 gears. The 1st gear has always been too low for me when on pavement. When I do start from 1st (mostly on hills when I'm at a stop light), I have zero issues with throttle response - even without the Sprint Booster and/or Flashpaq. My throttle lag only comes from starting off from 2nd. But again, the Sprint Booster greatly improved this and yes, it compliments the Flashpaq very well.
I do not and will not use the Flashpaq to adjust my throttle response - it horrible with the 6-speed - too jerky....I mean really jerky. I keep the Sprint Booster on the red setting (most sensitive) 100% of the time - even off-road. For me, it feels just as smooth as stock, just responds better. But if you want to adjust the sensitivity, it's super easy to do with the Sprint Booster. Pain in the rear to do with the Flashpaq (unless you have the traildash I guess).

So do you feel like the flashpaq gave you any worthwhile gains as far as power is concerned? Did it make the engine run smoother or anything?

The engine seems to run the same, but I do feel more power. I run the 93 octane setting and get 1-2 mpg better. For me and where I live, my choice is 87 or 93 octane. It's hard to find 91 octane. It's either 87, 89 or 93. So for that reason, I don't run the tow/haul mode unless I'm towing something. I've been running with the 93 octane setting for almost 2 years now. I don't ever wanna go back to stock.
