Default Under armor - the other unsexy mod

Besides breather tube extensions and a drop in K&N filters, underbody armor has to be among the most expensive and unsexy of mods. They add a lot of weight too. But I realize they are necessary to prevent getting rock damage.

So the question is: what's the minimum amount of armor you could invest in and not end up hitching a ride in a tow truck after wheeling? What are you running with and has it worked for you?

Thanks all

Rock hard oil, tranny plate is the only one I have added and it's doesn't look like it's taken to much damage yet.

I'll probably do the evap skid, but hell - each piece of armor is $100+. Yuck. All that dough for stuff you don't even see.

How about front skid? Necessary? I don't have an electric disco.

Not really. Depends on the type of wheel'n you will do. I am in Indiana and that for me is more trails with a mix of mud, rocks, dirt.... last week in Tennessee it was sand, ledges, mud, gravel and hills.

I would hate to bang the evap of slam the front diff into a rock. The rest I'll deal with. Although an oil pan skid from Rancho is on the list
