undercoating?
Any good do it yourself undercoating? What all can i spray? Costs? My jeeps brand new but still has rust spots underneath and would like to stop them or prevent further rusting sooner than later
My preference would be to NOT undercoat the Jeep, especially since I wheel it hard. Hides things you would rather find in a garage than on a trail (like cracking welds).
I've seen guys hose down the undercarriage with WD-40 every now and then. Works quite well to keep the rust at bay and helps keep mud from sticking.
But I live in AZ where rust isn't a problem.

a five dollar can of rust oleom sray paint. then go back a day later and use up a can of wd40 on the whole underside. i would recomend doing this outside of the garage and were a mask cause i blew black snot all night long after doing this. not to mention that my dinner tasted like oil the next night lol.

I do a beach run every now and then.
I would recommend the spray paint too. I have used WD-40 in addition and coupled with fine sand it creates a nice abrasive mix that I prefer not to have roaming around moving parts.
Several times now I have sprayed the undercarriage with spray wax and it does a great job on painted surfaces of keeping sand any salt water off. It's hard to tell on unpainted surfaces like the drive shafts. And its very easy to wash off.
I've compared the wash off water from the WD-40 and the wax and the wax does not leave an film residue.
