You'll have to call Superchips and pay a fee.

Is that what it is? Wow thats absolutely ridiculous. I understand locking it to a vehicle when the vehicle is running a tune or options that makes sense, but when your vehicle is set back to stock it should be able to be used on someone elses JK. Most who have one paid $300+ for it and if they no longer want to keep it they should be able to set their JK back to stock and sell it without having to pay $100 to unlock it. Didnt the fee used to be $30?

If you set your truck back to stock, you can use the programmer on another vehicle that will work with that specific programmer. The fee only applies if you DIDN'T return the vehicle to stock or want to "change the model #" of the unit. Reread the original post.

Did you read the OP's post? He did not return to stock before selling, hence his flashpaq is still locked to the vehicle he no longer owns, hence the cost of unlocking...

Go to where you traded it and ask to return it back to stock. I am sure they would appreciate it back to stock for the next person they sell it to.

I would but it's been awhile and I thought I returned it to stock. Then I was going to sell it to a friend with a 08 and he gave it back saying it was locked.

A hundred + time on the phone + the annoyance factor less than a used unlocked flashpaq?
