Updated Bestop safari tops (fixed flapping)
I contacted Bestop recently to find out the difference between the Mopar version of the 4-door safari top and the standard Bestop version. I had read a lot of posts about people stuffing things like pool noodles above the soundbar to fix the flapping problem. The Mopar version has a strap in the middle of the top to hold it to the soundbar, but it costs more than the other version.
Based on the updated PDF manual for the Bestop version, it looks like they have added straps so you no longer need to stuff something up there to prevent flapping. If you are ordering one now, make sure you get the new version. Here's a link to the PDF.

Based on the PDF instructions, it looks the same as the one I have which I bought in April. I don't see any changes. All the straps, velcros etc. are the same.

It wasn't clear in the PDF instructions, but unless it has the straps that go around the sound bar and to the front of the windshield, it's still going to flap. That's the whole reason I spent the extra money and bought the Mopar version, that and the fact that the Mopar version is 1 piece with the windshield channel built right in. Worth the extra money in my opinion.
I have that same version of the Bestop Safari Top (by same, I mean the the same as pictured in the instructions at the end of the link) and it still flaps really bad. Not only does it flap, but it slaps the sound bar hard enough to make a very annoying slapping noise.
To solve this, I went by my local hardware store and picked up some 3/8" foam adhesive backed weatherstrip and stuck it to the top of the sound bar. Problem solved!

If anyone is handy with the sewing or has a girlfriend or wife who is, and would like pictures of the Mopar versions solution for the slap let me know and I'll take pictures of it and someone can attempt to make a Mopar version from the Bestop version. Really shouldn't be hard if you have the tools and a rudimentary knowledge of sewing.
