Default Upgraded tie rod/drag link dead zone

Upgraded my tie rod to the Rock Jock Currentlync unit with upgraded ends and the teraflex flipped drag link. Had ball joints checked and they are good with no immediate need to replace. Tie rod ends are tight as i had everything retorqued the other day.

but driving i notice there a decent size deadspot on steering wheel between 11-12 when driving straight, i know this is a Jeep thing and can vary. It doesent wander, but is there any adjustment i can do through the drag link to keep it centered and have smaller deadspots?

The dead spot could be due to a work steering gear box. Have someone slowly wiggle your steering wheel while feeling the pitman arm and steering gear box. If you feel and slop between the two, you’ve found your source of the dead spot.

Agreed! The steering dead spot is likely the flex between the steering box and the frame. I put a sector shaft brace on mine and it eliminated the slop.

I replaced the drop pitman arm with a non dropped arm when I swapped out the track bars/drag links. I will look into adjusting the steering box and possibly into ordering the brace. I just thought that maybe since the tie rod/ends were swapped in about 350 miles ago they were still breaking in even though end and everything are tight. Crawling the steering still feels stiff, at speed it feels lighter but gets heavier with lower speed.
