Default Upgrading from D30 3.73 with 33" Tires

Needs suggestions regarding upgrading from my existing front d30 3.73 in my 2009 X Unlimited. Will it be good enough to upgrade ring and pinions to a higher ratio or looking for a D44 altogether to run my 33" Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs for occasional wheeling.

If upgrading ring and pinions are the right way to go then please suggest brands/manufacturers in terms of strength and durability.

As long as you aren't jumping your jeep up and down you will be fine. I'm not sure what trails you will be running during your 'occasional wheeling', but as long as you take it easy and go slow then your D30 shouldn't have nay problems. If you are that worried about it, try and find a used 44 front.

As far as gears, you should be fine on the highway with just your 3.73s. Test drive it both on and off road first to see if it will work for you before committing to a lower gear.

You should be fine with 3.73's and 33's. I would at least get a programmer...AEV or Superchips.

I have 3.73's with 34's and I have superchips. Its tolerable but I will be going 4.56's sooner than later. I have gussets welded on for extra strength and piece of mind. Its cheap insurance.
