Default Upgrading shocks, need insight

Okay Im saving up for some nicer high end shocks, so far I've been going back and forth between bilstein 5160, Elka, or King. I do mostly highway driving, but when off roading I like good stability, flex, and absorb ruts. Any suggestions on these shocks or any you recommend would help.

Ive been doing a lot of research on shocks and Ive narrowed it down to these three shocks.

1) OME (Nitro or Long Travel)

2) Bilstein 5100's

3) Tera Flex

I've always been a bilstein fan. The 5160s would be my choice from your list. The external reservoir means that they have shorter compressed length vs the equivalent 5100, so you don't need extended bump stops. They will also run cooler over the fast bumpy stuff because they have more surface area to cool everything down.

Sounds like the 5160's would be better since you drive the highway alot

I do a lot of highway driving and city driving over crappy roads and could not be happier with the OME shocks, nice and smooth. Plus they are great off road as well, an all around great shock. heard good things about the TFs too, can't go wrong with either.

Also check out the Edelbrock IAS shocks. They are a good ride and self adjust for highway or bumpy roads.

I have a 4" lift up front, the extended bump stops are about two inches before they make contact, this is all after the bumper winch and lights. If I remove the bump stops would I need extended brake lines, and any other mods if I go with the 5160s?

Anybody running 5160s and had any issues or had to mod anything? Do i require the pin eliminators for rear shocks? do they sell these for a 4" lift? Who has the best deals on these? If everything goes well I should have these in about a month

Default Elka

I run ELKA shocks and a 2.5" TF coil lift, the car drives beautifully! would recommend it any day. Slight investment but worth it IMO

I run Elkas with a TF 3" long arm. Very happy with the ride and handling.
