Default Upper front bump stop?

I was getting some other stuff done on my JK this weekend and noticed that a bump stop inside one of my front springs was laying around inside and detached.

I have installed my front springs before but I have no idea how to do the bump stop. I did it at 8k with a friend. I now have 150k.

How can I be sure I'm buying the correct replacement part? I know it originally came with my OME kit from northridge so I believe it came with Tera flex bump stops.

Thanks for helping me identify the part and walking me through the fix. To get the spring out I remember I had to lower the axel to the ground and pull the spring out. Also had to disconnect one side of the track bar.

You literally just push it in. I would try and do it without removing the spring. Line it up and flex the axle and let the weight of the jeep push it up in there.

Hard to tell from the picture. Kind of looks like the top of that is ripped and it tore apart from part that is still jammed up in the cavity? If it's not "broken" then yes, I'd agree you should be able to maneuver it in place with your hands, and maybe use some big bar or screw driver as leverage through the spring to push it up in to place without removing the spring. If it is broken, snap a picture of the good one on the other side.

Is there a possibility that this is just a press fit into place and I can do it through the spring?

I'll get a better pic for everyone since I can't seem to find the same part again on northridge.

Yea thats what we are saying, those things are "installed" by just pushing them into place. Unless yours broke off and no longer will stay in place, or half of it is up there and the other half is what your are seeing you should just be able to push it back in to place one way or another.

Grease the top, put a large socket under it and jack that corner up from under the axle. It will slide right in. If thats the Teraflex extension and its damaged, I will have a spare you can have in a few weeks.
