The TJ crowd has tinted the uppers and the results are usually 50/50 but you've got to be gentle with the windows or you'll tear up the tint film and your windows. I was going to tackle it on my TJ but never got around to it before selling.

I tried to tint my rear soft top windows with the static cling tint, while it is possible, I don't think its a good idea. I got one side done and after a day it pealed off lol

I'm also not a window tint specialist...

Did this to my factory top after it was a couple years old.

I would not attempt it again, and it was not worth the time and money I spent. Bought a Bowless top and am much happier.

Just saw you're in CO as well. The first time they failed was the first freeze, on a hunting trip late season. Wrinkled all up and never went back, ruined the film.

I did my uppers with the Gila Peel and Cling window tint from Autozone. I installed it like you would normal tint though. Plenty of soapy water solution and a squeegee. I've had the tint on for almost 4 years now, and it still looks great. I have no peeling or bubble issues.
These are the best pics I currently have. I went with the 20%, but it isn't as dark as you would think.

Thanks jsukey.

I did some more research and saw that people were using the Gila cling product. It's good to know someone has tried it and that it works.

Just make sure to apply it like regular tint. I tried just sticking it on and it wasn't happening.
