Default Urgent American Eagle Question

Does anyone have American Eagle series 185 wheels 17x9 on their JK, or Ae wheels with the following dimensions?

17x9 Black 5 on 5 OFF SET -8 mm BACK SPACE 4.625 2100 lbs. 27 lbs.

According to the tire shop, American Eagle says they won't fit due to off set.

I would like to spend $2400 on wheels and tires, but the Jeep Gods aren't letting me.

Photos would be greatly appreciated.

That is what the tire shop quoted me for 5 wheels and 5 Toyos, but they say the AE wheel won't fit due to the off set.

Could this be because they think I am stock and not lifted?

2400 bucks? I dont think I gave that much for my wheels tires and lift. You should be able to find something for that much. Check out the sponsors.

5 toyo 35 x12.50- $330 each

5 AE series 185- $145 each

Installed, out the door- $2375

Again, price is not my concern at this moment. My concern is why the shop is saying this wheel won't fit my JK.

It probably depends on your lift. Although, I have Eagle 135s with the same dimensions and same offset/backspace, and no problems yet.

My last set of wheels were -12mm offset with a 4.5 backspacing and they were fine. Ask them why they wont fit. While shopping for my rockstars, I had 2 different salesman tell me 2 different things. One told me a certain wheel wouldnt work, and the other told me it would be fine, just stick out a little.

If you call national tire and wheel, I deal with a guy named Dave and he is very knowledgeable. I think his ext is 116. Good Luck

I just put them on my jk, they work fine, no issues. I have 33X12.5's on them now. I'm at work now so can't post pics but can try and get some posted at lunch time.
