Using "tail light blackout paint" on stock silver-painted wheels?
I really like the look of the "mineral grey" painted wheels on the special edition JK's. I could sand and prepare the silver painted wheels on my Sport and then paint them with a few top coats mineral grey paint, but was thinking of something else and wanted some opinions.
You know that "tail light blackout paint" that comes in a rattle can and is used to achieve a "smoked" effect on tail lights; what is the feasability of spraying a few coats of that over the stock silver wheels until I've achieved the required darker shade, and then spray on a clearcoat on top? I've never used the stuff so have no idea of it's consistency or composition or whether it would be suitable for this application, so any feedback would be appreciated.

It's very very very very thin and has much more of a "liquid consistency" compared to spray paint. Much more. I would never spray it on my wheels. You won't get any sort of gray effect. It'll look like crap.
