Default Uwharrie/4 door Question

Or those of you familiar with Uwharrie, you know that the majority of the trails have those big dirt humps. I think they might be used for erosion perhaps. Anyway, my stock height 4 door gets caught on them. So I have to approach them at an angle and then right at the top of the hump, cut hard on the steering the opposite way to avoid bottoming out. I want to get lifted obviously but with those out there who know what I'm taking about, would a 2 to a 2.5 inch lift be enough to clear these? I plan to get bigger tires in the future, which will also help when these issues arise. But what do y'all recommend for a lift now so I can approach them head on?

We went out there this past weekend and all i have is the rough country bb and i did fine. I also have 315 70 17s too so that got me a little higher. I never rubbed on those hills at all. Now some of the rocks, thats another story.

Remember that a lift just raises the body of the jeep and not your axles and differential which are what is likely dragging. The lift allows you to run larger tires which are what really gives you the clearance to get over the humps. Depending on your current tire size 33's may be all you need with a leveling kit. Possibly spacers depending on the rims you are running. If stock spacers would likely be needed.

If he's describing what I think he is, it sounds like he's talking about increasing his breakover angle, which the lift itself will help with. I had problems with breakover angle this on my '07 unlimited with a 2" BB and 33's on those types on humps on the National and State forest areas around here.

X2. For a JKU, a 2.5" lift and 35's seems to be the magic number to clear them. We had one JKU with a 1.5" and 33's and he scrapped every single one of them. We also had JK 2 door which cleared most of them stock. They are all mostly dirt, so at least your not scrapping up the underside too much...

We took our new 2 door up there and now its nickname is Dink cause of the noise it made over the hump and some of the rocks. and it was all the belly of the beast hitting. will be lifting it as soon as i get some shocks to help with breakover clearance.

Those are the water breaks you are talking about...keeps rain from washing out the trails.

You are most likely hitting the cross member. A lift and larger tires will prevent your belly from dragging the ground.

4 door guys have it worse because of the break over angles.

Yeah the break over angle is what I'm describing. Never have issues with my diffs. Currently, I'm running just my stock wheels and tires, P255 75 R17s. I added 1.5 inch spacers awhile back just for a wider look. 33s will be in my future. I'm good with the stock tires for now. I've done every trail at Uwharrie except Daniel. But those water erosion humps are annoying when I scrape them. I'm hoping a 2.5 inch BB will give me some better clearance until I can afford new wheels and tires.
