VDP Stubby Bumper Install complete
I decided a while back that I wouldn't spend the cash on a new bumper, instead, I figured with the money i'd save I could get a mounting plate, winch, and eventually stubby up the stocker. I'm glad I made that decision.
We tackled the install late yesterday afternoon, and despite the freaking rain and my POS sawzall, the install was very straightforward. Mark off 3.5" on the top and bottom with some tape, and saw off the ends. I ran into issues, but it really is that easy. You don't have to be anywhere near perfect on the cuts, just have to leave enough to be able to drill holes and mount the end caps. My cuts were FAR from perfect. Once cut, stick the end cap on, drill five holes on each side, push the grommets in. Done. Took 30 minutes. Would have taken 15 if I would have had a proper saw. Last part was sticking the air dam back on, with the wings trimmed off.
End result is a clean install and it really opens up the front. I really like the end result. The picture I pasted below isn't the greatest, but you get the idea. For 58 bucks delivered and 30 minutes of work, i'd say the VDP stubby end caps are worth every penny.

LOL, na, I just put new tires on it. I really like the Mastercrafts anyhow, and am very pleased with their performance on and off road. I haven't ran into anything those tires didn't give me clearance to overcome. Anything i've failed to navigate was either due to operator error or lack of having lockers. They are pretty light weight being such a narrow 33. I like not having the woes and worries of the big, tall, heavy tires. Been down that road with other vehicles, and I wish I had the money I spent on repairs for finishing up this jeep.

I got mine from Northridge 4x4, but I ordered ACE sliders (they haven't got here yet) at the same time. If you put the code JKFORUM in you'll get a 10% discount and free shipping on orders over 70 bucks. They are great to deal with and have great customer service.

Got a corded one & it cut thru like butter.
