Vent Window Replacement
I had to replace the rear passenger side vent window today. I called and made an appointment with Safelite but it was for next week Thursday. The estimate was $485. WTF right? After some searching I found the window is not just replaced because its built into a bracket which is also the window channel for the large window and entire rubber seal that goes around. This also means Safelite only carries the Mopar OEM part, which was nice. After a couple phone calls I found the part in stock at the downtown Seattle warehouse and a cost of $265. 45 min later I was back at home for the install.
Sorry I didn't get more pictures. I just wanted this done, since its pouring rain here now and forecast is the same for the weekend. The one picture is the old broken out part.

Tools needed
Torx 20
Phillips head screw driver
Upholstery tool or flat head screw driver
Windex
Paper towls
Goo Gone (For the sticker on the replacement glass)
With clean up and everything, this took about 30 minutes.
REMOVAL STEPS
Roll down the window all the way
Remove the inner door cover.
There are 2 t-20 screws to remove. top right and bottom left
Remove the 2 plastic bolts for the silver door handle plate
The plate pops off using upholstery tool or screw driver.
There are 2 phillips screws under the plate to remove.
Use an upholstery tool or screw driver, starting at the bottom and pop the clips holding the panel cover on.
Once the cover is off, you will see a bolt up by the vent window. Loosen or remove this 10mm bolt. Your new window has this bolt.
From the top inner corner pull down on the seal to remove it. Work your way down the inner part of the window (closest to the hinges) and pull out that side.
To remove the window, you need to pull the top first at an angle. The screw you loosened up earlier acts like a hinge. Once there is enough angle on the window you call pull it up.
Now that the window and seal are out, remove the door and shake out any broken glass that fell into the door. Suggest you have someone help. And then re-install door
INSTALL STEPS:
1. You need to install the rubber side window channel opposite the window first. Guide the channel down the window. This side should go in pretty easy
2. Dont worry about the upper part of the seal once step one is complete. The next part is the most difficult, so just take your time.
3. The window needs to go in at an angle, bottom first using the screw as a hinge point. Just like it came out.
4. Spray down the seal with windex to help it slide easier. Can't use too much
5. As you slide the window into place be sure to check all seals inside and outside are lining up properly. Use the other side as a visual reference for seal location.
6. One I got the bottom in place, I slowly pushed on the top to push the window into place. I had to bang on it with my hand a couple times to get it on.
7. After the window pops into place, push the remaining seal into place all the way around.
8. Roll up\down the window a couple times to make sure there is no binding and the window stays in the channel.
9. Tighten down the 10mm hinge bolt.
10. There is a small rail at the top on the door cover that comes off. Remove and install on door first.
11. Time to install the panel. Slide the door lever through the hole in the panel.
12. Tilt the bottom out to get the top latched on to the rail you installed in step 9.
13. Starting from the top pop the panel fastener in by bang on the door with your hand. You may need to look on the side to make sure everything is lined up.
14. Install the 2 phillips head screws into the inner door handle
15. Install the silver cover using the plastic allen bolts. Dont tighten these too tight. They are plastic
16. Install the 2 t20 screws.
15. Run the window up\down again
16. All done. Thank yourself for the money you saved.
Hope this helps someone in the future.
