Default Very weird death wobble problem.

I went offroading the other week, and caked my right rim in mud. After pressure washing off the mud, i got a pretty good shake at 40-50, and 70-75. i had to lock up the brakes on the highway because of some stupid "street ricer" and immediatly went into a DW fit. it then happened twice going 40. is this because of an out of balance tire?? it has never happened before untill i had to brake......
any ideas?

UPDATE: Washed off mud, no more shake, but still death wobble at 40 when i hit bumps

Possible you knocked some weights off, also very possible you have some loose components. Check your WHOLE front end, retorque, look for cracks in the TB welds. The more you drive with DW , the worse its gonna get and the more parts it'll help to destroy.

Edit: if you feel its that certain tire, put your spare on or rotate front tires to the rear, see if it happens again

Make sure you look from the back of each wheel to verify you got all the caked mud. It only takes a little bit to cause your symptoms.

This could have caused the mud to cake at the bottom of the back of your wheels. Just get under there with a wire brush and some water.

Also, DW is usually at much lower speeds.

Just do a search, happens all the time. Happened to me. I hope that's all it is. Cheap just a PITA to do. Good luck

It is possible that you pressure washed a weight off the wheel along with the mud.

Do you have an adjustable track bar? The jam nut on my JKS comes loose after wheeling and I have to constantly check that it is tight. A loose jam nut can cause DW.
