Default VIAR OBA confusion

I received my new VIAR OBA compressor Thursday and was hoping to install this weekend but the package was missing the mounting bracket. I contacted Brett (jeepswag) and he said he would get one shipped out to me on Monday. I notice that the compressor I received was also missing the grey looking cap at the front end...not sure if this piece has any function but mine is different then all the pictures and videos that i have seen. There aren't any installation instructions that came with it so I have been reviewing the video links which don't help me much as far as the electrical goes. There is a VIAR fuse block and in-cab switch that came with the package but installation videos don't go into how this is connected. Also It looks like I attach the "nipple" for the air hook up on the end where the grey cap is missing but I'm thinking I will need some longer hardware to attach it. Does anyone have some electrical advice and do I need the grey endcap?

Viair's site has some wiring diagrams that should help

I found the electrical instructions, thanks. Does this system require an external tank or can I use it straight up to air up tires only?

Looking at different pictures of the viair compressors it seems that the on/off switch is located on that gray cap. Since you have an in-cabin switch you should be fine without the cap.

There isn't a valve for regulating air to the tank so you can use it just for tires. I've got e lockers so never got a tank for my setup. Works great as is. I'd only get a tank if I was running air tools or lockers.

You will love this setup on the trail. Saves a lot of headaches having your own pump.

The gray/black caps that screw on the ends are air filters.
The relays actually turn the compressor on and the pressure switch cuts it off/ on when PSI is reached.
The braided hose is your output with a check valve in it.

Are you running a tank?
Here's how mine is set up with a tank. If you need some more detailed pics I can get them.

The braided hose should go into the fitting with the curved bracket/ slip fitting on it. Then the black hose goes from it to the fitting with the air chuck on it.

As I was waiting on the mounting bracket to be shipped I used the black tubing for the in cab air fitting. I'm thinking I would have to buy extra tubing if I was to mount a fitting in the cab and run it to the compressor fitting.... I probably don't need to do this or does it make it more convenient to have the fitting in the cab?

After looking at the drawing for the 400c it appears that I'm missing the pressure switch unless this is an integral piece of the compressor. Does anyone concur?
