Default vibration/knocking noise in front end

Went out driving my jeep today and started getting a vibration and knocking noise in the front end. When i turn left or right it gets more intense and sounds like something is binding. Anybody got any ideas?

check your axle shaft u-joints. i'd be willing to bet that one's going out or that you've lost a bearing cap. the stupid factory shafts come with c-clips and that makes this a common problem. aftermarket chromo shafts come with full circle clips and they will prevent this from happening.

Cool. Thanks. I guess ill be visiting the shop monday. Could ball joints also give me these problems. Mine have been bad for awhile.

no, they wouldn't cause "vibration/knocking" noises like you've described.

I just found, by isolating my hubs, that my lower ball joints are shot on both sides. My symptoms were the same as yours. Slight vibration I thought was coming from the rear. My steering wheel danced a little too but I have a stock stabilizer. Good luck. I'm switching to 60s to rectify.
