Hey Guys...Just want to give my views on power adders...I got a
2008 Unlimited X - Auto...Iv'e installed so far...
1) Superchips Programmer
2) Airaid Cold Air Intake and Throttle Body Spacer
3) MBRP Cat Back Exhaust System
I found from stock to be a very noticeable difference...If anyone is
wondering,I say do it...For what it costs it's worth it...

Did you do all at once or one piece at a time? If you did it one at a time, what do you think gave the most improvement?

Not try to intrude but u couldve paid for half of ripp with those mods...that is a real power adder. You may have gained 30hp from your list, the ripp would be more cost effective

More like 20% and if you pulled 30hp that would be more hp per dollar spent.

Doing the math now... Figuring he got good prices:

$310 for Superchips, 18 HP
$410 for MBRP, 9 HP
$249 for CAI, 14 HP
$122 for TBS, ~8 HP (guess)

Now assuming all the HP curves peak at the same point, you'll gain a total of 49 HP for $1090, at $22.28 per HP.

RIPPMODS SC:
$4940 for supercharger, 112 HP

Price per HP here is $44 per HP.

The big difference, and certainly justifies the cost for me, is the usable power that RIPP provides. Big torque and power starts at 1800 RPM and goes right up to 4000 RPM. All the typical NA mods provide power at 5200 RPM.

Dont forget the added cost of running premium that day forward and also getting the superchips anyway to change shift points . . . unless the RIPP has some sort of tuner included (which I have not heard about)

What's better to get after the intake and throttle body spacer...programmer or exhaust?

My experience is that no way you are going to get 49HP from those bolt on mods, 20 is probably more like it, but wonderful driveability with the Flashpaq, at least as important as the HP if not more, a lot more.

From another forum (I think) a guy e-mailed me and said he wanted to know if I had run a throttle body spacer.
I told him I had not and the research I did said no one ever thought it helped much.
Well he told me he was experimenting with running TWO of them and so far the results were very encouraging particularly at highway cruise. His 6-speed Unlimited Rubicon is on 35" KM2s with a Gibson SS dual exhaust, Superchips Flashpaq and a K&N short ram.

Could there possibly be anything to this? And not knowing anything about the TBS what would be required to run 2 of them?

I would start with the Flashpaq for sure... it's just that good. I'm not at all sold on the throttle body spacer. The CAI and exhaust might not be a bad idea... but I don't think I'll ever worry about a CAI at all. I do have the MBRP cat back on my wish-list though...

The spacer seems like a waste to me but I have had it, my Gibson duel, and cai installed at the same time. So I don't know for sure. I'm not completly sold on the spacer yet.
