Was looking at winches and was wondering if the 12.0 is too much for a 2 Door? Let me know what you think...

Well, if you do a lot of winching and long pulls, it will be less stress on the system in terms of duty cycle. But if you use the winch on occasion, then I would say it is a bit overkill.

Eventually, too much is never enough when it comes to the Jeep. How much does it weigh as compared to the 9.5?

Not sure on the weight but the price difference is minimal.

According to their site the 12.0 comes in at 100lbs and the 9.5ti comes in a 89lbs.

When it comes to a winch, its better to have too much than not enough. I run a warn powerplant 12.5k on my 2 door but mine was free!!

I was wondering the same thing. but then again I have a 4 door. I think i'm gonna get a 9.5ti because how often do you actually really use a winch at the end of the day. But I think if you have a snatch block and are reving it enough you don't need an endurance at all...unless you're hanging from a cliff like in Jurassic park 2...then maybe you should go for the endurance.

One last piece of info... many bumpers are only rated to 10k for a winch. Make sure your bumper/winch plate is rated for the 12.5k. You can always beef up the bumper/plate, just keep it in mind.

This will be going on a Poision Spyder Rock Brawler which is powder coated and ready to install and rated at 15000 lbs.
