I had to send a part back under warranty... They never asked if I had a cover or not. It was fixed for free, but I had to pay shipping both ways (luckily just on the one part, not the whole winch).

When I read the warranty didn't see anything about it saying the winch had to be covered to maintain it. Sounds like a sleaze trying to make a extra buck off you're misery.

Yeah.....that's bs about the cover. Can't believe somebody actually told him that. I would call back and ask to talk to somebody else....
