$1100 from Central 4WD. PM me for the info of the particular sales guy I deal with. He can have it sent straight from Warn to your home.

I live in Canda. Will they ship it here, or does that become a problem. On some of the sights I've put the winch in "in my cart" and "proceeded to checkout" just to see what would happen and they don't give me an option for a Canadian province or a postal code.

Dave at Northridge 4X4 (one of our sponsors) was having a pretty good sale on them as well. Don't know if he has any left.

I got mine during the Northridge sale at $1169.95. I don't think they're running the sale anymore though. On a side note I love my PowerPlant. I've been able to use it to air up tires after a trail ride and its plenty quick. I've used it to winch out a fellow JK-Forum member from a bad situation. And just yesterday I used it to air up my wife's exploder that was getting on the low side thereby saving me time and gas to the closest convenience store with air.

It seems that there is only a couple pounds and $100 difference in the 9K and the 12K Powerplant. Is there any reason not to go with the larger one?

Thanks

Depends what you want to do with it. Here are the notable differences:

Gear ratio - HP: 156:1; HD: 261:1 - The HD is slower.

Cable - HP: 125' 5/16; HD: 80' 3/8 - Shorter cable on the HD.

Weight - HP: 100 lbs; HD: 115 lbs - the HD weighs more.

Line speed - HP: 7.8 FPM @ 6000 lbs; HD: 6.7 FPM @ 6000 lbs. (just one data point - all are faster on the HP up to the rated limit).

They share the same motor and same air compressor specs. The dimensions are pretty much the same, though the HP is actually a little deeper by .3 inches according the Warn web site.

My 2 cents: The HP is faster, lighter, cheaper, and has more cable than the HD. 9500 lbs is about right for the JK. If you look closely at the specs you'll notice that by the time you get to the last layer of rope, the HP actually pulls more than the HD! Of course, the last layer on the HP is pulling 45' further than the HD can reach. I see no reason to go with the HD.
