Default warn wiring question

I setup in cab controls for my warn m8000 this spring and I wanted to double check on something. My winch came with the warn power interrupt kit so I figured the in/out switch didn't need a safety toggle. Thus, the two switches are independent of each other. However, I can't decide where post 5 should go if it doesn't go to the power interrupt switch. I first sent it to the cigarette tap that the leds are tapped into but it kept burning the inline fuse. So I ran it to my fuse box and tapped into an unused input. Does this sound right/safe. Thanks, Jake.

You said the winch is a 8000 but you have a diagram for the 9000. I thought the 8000 used the 6 pin remote.

Post a pic of the connector on the end of your remote cable.

Will do. However, everything matches up on the solinoids with the diagram and the winch controls function as intended just wanted to make sure the setup is fine to run in the long run. Thanks, Jake.
