Default warn xp 9.5 in a fab four bumper pitfa

3 hrs to get this done

98% of the winches out there fit in there like a glove and I pick one that doesn't

for all future fab four owners beware this is a real PITA

normally I take the bumper off attach the winch and throw the bumper back on well I did that but the passenger side interior 2 bolts can not be bolted nor can you get the bumper on because of the length of the winch motor so do not try to make it work

so here is what you must do

step by step
  1. disconnect front sway bar if Rubicon model disconnect the electrical connection
  2. remove all for mounting bolts (you do not have to remove the links)
  3. place all four nuts into their holders on the winch
  4. place winch into the bumper
  5. thread all forur bolts into the winch ( this part is time consuming be patient)
  6. with a 14mm gear wrench tighten all four bolts to 35 ft lbs
  7. reposition the sway bar and attach it back into place (reconnect wire pack rubicon model)
  8. now run your wires to the battery ( this you can do the way you prefer)
  9. test winch

sorry I have no pics of the install but it was dark light snow coming down and about -10 c or about 14 degrees f

I hope this helps some of you guys out

Does anyone know what modifications to the FabFour front have to be done to fit a PowerPlant WARN?

you have to cut out the top passenger side where she mounts to the frame about a 6x8" section and then it will fit afterwards
