Default Warrenty issues after lift

I am taking delivery of a new 2010 Sahara in a couple of weeks and want to do a mild lift pretty soon after that (prob 2.5") and trow on a set of 33's. My question is, will this have any effect on my factory warranty or will I still be covered if any problems crop up.

Unless the problem is traced back and is caused by the larger tires and lift your warranty is still good.

The dealership will blame everything on the after market parts to try to get out of the problem. They have to prove the trouble was caused by your modification's in order for the warranty to be voided.

go ask your dealerships service department to install the lift, use the parts they reccommend... sure it might cost alittle more and you dont get the joy of installing it yourself, but a JEEP dealership installed it, and forever more that lift will be golden... at least thats the way i looked at it.

Anything happens they are going to blame the lift...yeah they have to prove that part caused the failure but the cost of the lawyer will most likely be more then what your trying to get fixed.

Look for a dealer that is mod friendly. When I had my 2.5 lift my throw out bearing went and they blamed it on my lift lol. I took the lift off and went to a different dealer to get it fixed. I use to be nervous about warranty stuff but I got over it. If something breaks now I would rather built it bigger and better.

This is incorrect to assume. If you believe that, you better have it in writing.

verbal contract from the service manager i had witness's thats good enough for civil claims(the only way you would be able to fight it anyways), but service managers change so... really its up to the dealer, if you wheel and break your shit, it didnt just "break" you broke it, own up.

if the tranny overheats and explodes and your small dog dies in the fire, its probably a warrante issue.

Ahh, verbal contract ,yeah, they don't really hold water when you look at the warranty papers you sign that say ever so technically in fine print that any verbal guarantees do not apply, and that even mopar performance accessories are not covered on your manufacturers warranty. But like you said, it's up to the dealer and or if they are mod friendly. I coerced my local dealer into being mod friendly with pizza, donuts and beer. Alot cheaper than paying for a T-case rebuild.
