Default Warrior mirror mounts... any alternatives?

Hello!

I have the Warrior mirror relocation brackets (for when you take the doors off) and find them to be of an incredibly shoddy build quality. To my opinion not much R&D has gone into their making: they came without any buffer or damper material to prevent you from scratching the paint (I did manage to make one) and they keep shaking when you have them on because the stock bolts on the Jeep do not protrude enough when you use them with the brackets (no other bolt was provided). I don't know if I've missed something or whatnot but I was wondering if there were any alternatives to those mirror brackets? Are the Mopar ones better (aren't shaky)?

I have the Mopar one (check pics at My.Project-JK Gallery) which comes with a pad to place between the mount and the A-pillar. So, you can tighten up well without damaging the paint. It dosn't shake or rattle even on the off-road.

The down side (for some people) is it only comes with driver's side. The passenger side is not available. So, I've been driving around with only driver's side and rearview mirror. I'm used to it. One time, the State Trooper checked out my JK at Starbucks (he took pics of my JK with his cell phone!), but he didn't mention anything about not having passenger side mirror. Many occasions, the cops drove behind or besides me (both in WA and OR), but I've never got pulled over. So, I guess it's legal not having a mirror on the passenger side (in WA and OR anyway). Well, Mopar is part of DCX, if it's illegal, I'm sure the mirrors come with both driver's side and passenger's side.

Some people think ridiculous to spend $50+? for the mirror, but I really like it.

I also got Lenge II mirrors (you can get them at Quadratec, 4wd.com etc.). I didn't like them at all. Very cheap made (the quick release metal block that attatches to the A-pillar looked like painted with Sharpies... it's not even "black"). No pad was included either. Waited for a month to get those mirrors... Returned them right away.

I found this in the JK write up section. I have not seen them in person, but the pics in the post look good. Seems like a great alternative to the poor quality Warrior brackets ( I have them too). I found that they have way to much vibration and just look ugly. I plan on stopping by autozone and picking up a set of these.

Good Luck.

I put my Warrior brackets on yesterday and agree about the quality. It seems if they added another gusset plate itwould be stronger and vibrate much less. I sent an e mail to Warrior and they said mine is the first complaint they have received but would have thier engineering department look into it.

I like the look of mine but I think the quality just isnt there. They shake terribly, I have to drill out the hole where the bolt goes through to attach the mirror itself, and I recently found that the mirror bolt is a bit too short so I cant get the mirrors tight without the risk of stripping the threads. I am going to try and get longer bolts and this may solve everything.

Why not use the bolts that came with the Jeep?

The bolts that came with the Jeep are too short by about 1/4 inch. They thread into the miror through the bracket but dont go far enough into the mirror to tighten it sufficiently. When I took the mirrors off of the brackets to put the doors back on, I found the tell tale metal shavings on the threads of the bolts and could see where the threads inside the mirror were starting to strip. When the factory door mounts are used the bolt goes in far enough that this is not a problem.

This is very strange-

I installed my Warrior Mirror relocation brackets, yesterday and there isn't any threads on it and the screws that came on the jeep had plenty of room -

Did you get the right brackets sent to you?

For the 2007 JK the part number 1s 1501 - maybe they sent you the TJ brackets (1500)

Anyway, here is a photo of my brackets -

I do however, have a problem with the mirror part vibrating (moving not rattling) - but I am getting used to it -
